In fixed-bed continuous oxygen gasification, there are many large slag pieces, which can easily cause blockages in the slag hopper. What are the main reasons for the formation of large slag masses? Thank you.
1. It may be that the steam-to-oxygen ratio is not appropriate, with too high a proportion of oxygen and too low a proportion of steam. This results in a relatively high reaction temperature for the oxide layer; the reaction temperature approaches or even exceeds the melting temperature of coal, causing the coal slag to melt and agglomerate ； 2. There might be a minor issue with the air distribution, resulting in uneven airflow and thus higher gasification rates in certain areas ； 3. I don’t know how large the large pieces referred to by the original poster are; it’s possible that such large lumps of coal already exist in the raw coal itself
Check whether it is local overheating that causes the temperature to exceed the ash melting point!
The poster had better post a picture so that everyone can see the appearance of the slag; it’s likely that the oxygen-to-gas ratio is too low, causing the temperature of the oxide layer to reach the melting point of the slag, which results in some of the slag melting and forming clumps
