Chlorine content issue in crude benzene

Recently, there has been an issue of high chlorine content in the crude benzene produced by the company. I would like to ask whether this chlorine is organic or inorganic, how to determine its source, and how to conduct measurements Please, fellow sailors, share your suggestions. Thank you!
It’s not easy to judge directly. It depends on the source of your crude benzene and what impacts it has experienced during production, storage, and transportation. Free organochlorines generally do not exist in natural environments, but it is possible that they may be generated due to other factors during processes such as manufacturing. Inorganic chlorine is easy to identify; a test for chloride ions on the sample is sufficient.
Is it necessary to test the inorganic chlorine content for every process related to crude benzene? Crude benzene contains very low levels of chlorine, only a few ppm, and there is no good method for detecting it. I’d recommend it.
I’m not sure if this is correct, but if light tar is used for washing naphthalene in your cooling towers, it’s likely that ammonia from the gas gets mixed into the circulating oil, and then ends up incorporated into the product during the benzene removal process. Let’s discuss and see if there are any other reasons
There are specialized devices for detecting chloride ions, and they should cost less than 50,000. We haven’t seen this in our factory, but we have seen it in other factories. Chloride ion level is too high; 1. Oil washing level is too high. 2. Introduced during transportation by tank trucks. 3. It is possible that the chlorine level in the circulating water is too high, the standing time is not long enough, which leads to impurities.
