What causes smoking during coal loading in a 5.5-meter coke oven?
The suction power must be sufficient; generally, smoke guiding vehicles have a suction mechanism on one side along with a coal feeding port in the middle. Secondly, the coal cakes should not touch the furnace walls, with a gap of about 25 mm on either side of the coal cakes. Thirdly, the coal cakes must not collapse during the coal loading process. Other requirements include tight sealing of the pipelines and connections at the ground station to prevent air leakage, as well as good combustion performance of the smoke guiding vehicle. In short, the amount of suction air required for coal loading is much less than that needed for coke pushing, and most cases of poor coal loading are due to severe air leakage.
