For the black water coming out of a conventional vaporization furnace, as well as the gray water used for flushing hot water towers and siphons, what is the minimum flow rate of the heat exchange medium required to prevent scaling?
It is generally above 1.5 m/s.
First of all, as long as the water contains calcium and magnesium ions, scaling will occur regardless of the flow rate; it’s just a matter of how fast the scaling takes place.
