As of December 7, the SE-East furnace of the Zhongan United gasification unit has achieved 180 days of continuous operation at Class A performance per furnace, setting a new record for continuous operation of this type of gasification furnace. The SE-Eastern Furnace is based on the original patent developed by Sinopec and East China University of Science and Technology, namely the \"single-nozzle cold-wall pressurized coal gasification technology.\" This technology uses coal as raw material, along with oxygen and steam as gasifying agents, to carry out partial oxidation reactions under high temperature, high pressure, and non-catalytic conditions. As a result, crude syngas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen is produced, enabling the effective conversion of the coal feedstock. This syngas serves as a raw material for processes such as methanol synthesis, with polypropylene, polyethylene, and other products being produced in the end.
180 days of continuous Class A operation in a single furnace – no maintenance for half a year? ? ? What are the main tasks involved in a maintenance check? ? Replace the burner? ?
It should be to replace the burner, clean it, and clear blockages
Not entirely; currently, the gasification units in Sinopec’s integrated refining project use Dongfang furnaces.
It seems the timing isn’t right; a record of 100 days of operation was released in March, and from March to December, excluding the beginning and end, that’s another 8 months.
I’ve heard that the trays get heavily fouled within 3 months
Where do trays come from in a gasifier? The operation of the SE-East furnace addressed several key issues, such as: 1. The problem of damage to the water wall in the lower cone section of the gasification furnace——through modifications and optimized adjustments to the flow rate of water walls in various areas, the flow velocity in the water wall of the lower cone section was increased, thereby eliminating the serious risk of frequent damage to this water wall. 2. The problem of increased synthetic gas pressure drop due to dust accumulation and blockage in the venturi mixer, which affected the device’s operation under high load – a renovation of the venturi mixer was carried out, yielding good results. 3. The issue of ash in syngas causing blockages in the desulfurization tanks of downstream units and leading to high system pressure drops – an internal renovation project was carried out on the scrubber tower; currently, the pressure drop caused by the desulfurizing agent under high load conditions is relatively stable, showing significant results. 4. In the Gasification Series 6, slag lumps in the pulverized coal caused blockages in the coal supply line, forcing the shutdown of Furnace #6 – the pulverized coal fiber separator was modified to prevent foreign objects from blocking the coal valves and burners, thereby avoiding interruptions in the coal supply.
It’s related to the scrubber tower; it was mentioned in Zhenhai that the trays of the scrubber tower are severely scaled, extremely so
