Is it possible to replace the coke oven gas that has been reheated?

Approximately half of the coke oven gas produced by current coking units is used as a heat source for heating purposes. I would like to ask the experts whether there is any way to replace this amount of coke oven gas with something else that can be used as a chemical feedstock, thereby increasing its value? Also, are there any coking units in China that have already achieved substitution?
Steel complexes are performing well, using a mixture of gas from blast furnaces and coke ovens for heating.
In China, I haven’t heard of any alternatives being used. Generally, there are two methods in use there: purified coke oven gas, and blast furnace gas produced in conjunction with steel production. Additionally, industrial waste gases, such as methanol purge gas, can also be utilized, but they cannot completely replace the aforementioned gases due to issues related to calorific value
It is possible to use a gas generator to produce gas at atmospheric pressure; the resulting gas has a low calorific value of around 2100 kcal/m3. This gas can be used in coke ovens for combustion, as a substitute for coke oven gas with a higher calorific value. However, the extent of substitution is limited – generally only 50% of the conventional coke oven gas can be replaced
Blast furnace gas is a common choice, as it is mature and reliable.
