Is the quench water in the gasifier the circulating cooling water? Could the quenching water contain harmful substances? Or is shock cooling water just ordinary cooling water?
The quench water in the gasification furnace is used to cool the high-temperature syngas ash and slag while also protecting the downcomer. This quench water is typically the cleaner black water from the lower part of the carbon scrubber, as water under the temperature and pressure conditions in the scrubber will inevitably contain some dissolved harmful substances.
It is usually black water that is recycled in the vaporization system; the medium is quite dirty and contains many harmful substances.
What are those harmful substances usually included in?

So, what are the common harmful substances? “The black water discharged from the quench chamber is treated in a ash treatment process, where vapor such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide is separated through flash evaporation; carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide are then sent to the conversion unit. Does this mean that the quench water, or what is known as black water, contains carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide? Are the main harmful substances carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide?
