On January 29, 2021, Henan Jinkai Chemical Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. posted a public notice on its official website regarding the environmental impact assessment associated with the intelligent upgrading of its gasification furnaces. The intelligent upgrade project for the gasification furnace in Henan Jin Kai involves the construction of one new air separation unit and one new gasification unit. Upon completion, the air separation system will operate in a 2-in-use/1-backup mode, while the gasification unit will operate in a 4-in-use/1-backup mode. The plant’s overall production capacity remains unchanged. Henan Jinkai Chemical Investment Holding Group Company currently has 4 gasification furnaces of the Shanghang type, which are divided into two series and used to produce synthesis gas for 1.2 million tons of synthetic ammonia. The air separation unit is a 64,000 m3/h (O2) unit designed by the French company Air Liquide. The 1.2 million tons/year synthetic ammonia project was put into operation in 2012.
