The sampling port on the coke oven gas pipeline, which is used to take samples for testing oxygen content, became blocked a few days ago. Yesterday, after it was opened, a white substance flowed out from inside; the amount wasn’t large. Once the substance dried, it remained white, similar to lime. I’m wondering what this white substance is How come it wasn’t noticed before? What causes this substance to form? Industrial plant overview: 1. The sampling port is located after the electrostatic precipitator. 2. The electrostatic precipitator is situated after the fan, in a positive pressure environment. 3. The sampling port is a tee connected to the differential pressure transmitter for measuring the pressure behind the machine; the pressure transmitter is located at the top, while the sampling port is about 3 meters below it, at a height corresponding to a person’s chest level. 4. The external temperature is 16°C. Temperature behind the machine: 30°C. Pressure behind the machine: 10,000 Pascals
