Yunmei Energy’s Shizong Coking Coal Plant shuts down Coking Oven No. 2 for economic reasons

On May 6, Yunmei Energy officially issued a announcement stating that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shizong Coal-Coke Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shizong Coking”), decided to shut down Coke Oven No. 2 for economic reasons, due to the worsening inversion in coal and coke prices as well as the increasing operational losses. This measure was taken to curb these losses and ensure the stable operation of the company. As the core wholly-owned subsidiary of Yunmei Energy, the operational performance of Shizong Coking is directly linked to the overall development of its parent company. It is reported that the company was established in 2008 with a registered capital of 1.2 billion yuan; its registered address is in the Yila Industrial Park, Shizong County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. The company is engaged in the production and sales of coal, coke, and by-products from coal and coke chemical processing, and it is one of the key suppliers of metallurgical coke in Yunnan Province. It has two coke ovens, No. 1 and No. 2, with each oven having an annual production capacity of 490,000 tons; together, their combined coke production capacity amounts to 980,000 tons per year. This facility serves as a key production asset for Yunnan Coal Energy’s coking business.
