According to a report from Qinghai HuiXin in April 2026, since the beginning of this year, the two gasification units at the magnesium methanol plant have been operating at full capacity in a stable and efficient manner. The 300,000-ton PVC production facility has maintained its highest levels of operation in terms of high- and low-temperature chlorination processes as well as double cracking processes, with all these processes operating in coordination. The daily consumption of ethylene has reached a dynamic balance with that of the DMTO facility; the DMTO facility has operated continuously and stably for 54 days, setting a new record as output and consumption were in equilibrium. The production capacity of Yanhu Yuanpin remained at a high level; the utilization rates of units for producing synthetic ammonia and urea exceeded 97%, resulting in an increase in monthly profits compared to the previous month. At the same time, cost reduction has achieved significant results. The energy consumption for caustic soda decreased by 2.21% on a year-on-year basis, while the energy consumption for urea dropped by 7.67% on a year-on-year basis ; The material loss rate in lithium carbonate production decreased by 19% on a year-on-year basis, the comprehensive energy consumption per unit of product dropped by 3.2%, and the first-pass yield of the products increased from 96.78% to 99.70% ; The qualified rate of caustic soda, the qualified rate of PP, and the top-grade rate of PVC all reached 100%. In 2025, the methanol plant achieved a historic breakthrough in its production and operation, maintaining continuous and stable production throughout the year; the methanol output reached 165% of the planned target. Especially since the operation of two furnaces began, the load has steadily increased from 40% to 100%; the operating cycle of the gasification furnace has been extended from 30 days to 46 days. The average cost per ton of methanol has decreased by 30.8% on a year-on-year basis, and by 22% compared to the budgeted cost. This has ensured a stable supply of CO2 gas for the soda ash plant as well as of raw gas derived from salt lakes. The methanol production at Yanhu Magnesium Industry uses coal as raw material, and the multi-nozzle gasification technology developed by East China University of Science and Technology is employed. After conversion and purification through low-temperature methanol washing to remove acidic gases, hydrogen produced by pressure swing adsorption using some coke oven gas is added to the mixture; this mixture is then compressed and sent to the methanol synthesis unit, resulting in an annual production of 1 million tons of MTO-grade methanol. Commissioned in 2016. The DMTO technology from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics is used for the production of olefins from methanol. Commissioned in 2017. Yanhu Yuanpin has two ammonia synthesis units and two urea production units. All use the by-product exhaust gas from natural gas pyrolysis for acetylene production; the ammonia synthesis technology from Swiss company Cassali is employed, and the Dutch Stamicarbon carbon dioxide stripping method is used for urea production. The facility has an annual capacity of 490,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 660,000 tons of urea.
