Given the increasingly strict environmental regulations, adopting dry quenching of coke is an inevitable trend. For steel complexes, dry coke offers significant advantages: it ensures stable blast furnace operation, minimal fluctuations in furnace temperature, lower energy consumption, less wastewater generation, and compliance with environmental standards. Heat recovery is insufficient; there are large fluctuations in the moisture content of wet quenched coke, a large amount of wastewater is generated, causing severe environmental pollution (in the atmosphere), and it also hinders the operation of blast furnaces.
Wet quenching of coke requires less investment, but it generates waste gas emissions; Dry quenching of coke requires large investment, can generate electricity, and produces no exhaust emissions. Dry quenching of coke can adopt an alternative investment model.
