Here’s some information: 1) Fluidized bed gasification: This process uses coal particles with a particle size of 0–10 mm as the raw material for gasification. These particles are suspended in a vertically rising stream of gas inside the gasification furnace, where they undergo gasification reactions in a boiling state. This approach ensures uniform temperature within the coal layer, making it easier to control the process and improving the efficiency of gasification. 2) Fluidized bed gasification. It is a co-current gasification process in which a gasifying agent is used to introduce coal powder with a particle size of 100 um or less into the gasifier; alternatively, the coal powder can be first converted into coal slurry and then pumped into the gasifier. At temperatures higher than its ash fusion point, the coal reacts with the gasifying agent through combustion and gasification reactions, and the ash is discharged from the gasifier in a liquid state.

The GE gasification methanol production plant of Great Wall Energy Chemical Ningxia Company came online — Water-coal slurry technology. On January 17, 2014, the 500,000-ton coal-to-methanol project operated by Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Ningxia) Co., Ltd. in the Ningdong Industrial Park in Yinchuan was successfully put into operation. The core technology of this unit relies on GE’s high-efficiency coal-water slurry gasification technology, with a gasification pressure of 6.5 MPa. It features a furnace with a volume of 900 cubic feet (with a combustion chamber inner diameter of 3.2 meters), arranged in a 2-in-service/1-backup configuration. After a successful first charge, the plant produced qualified methanol within a week and quickly reached full capacity. As a key chemical raw material, methanol has a wide range of applications. Especially with the rise in domestic naphtha prices, the process of producing olefins from methanol derived from coal has become increasingly economically advantageous in China. It is reported that **the major methanol-to-olefins projects included in the 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans, such as those at Shenhua Baotou, Zhongtian Hechuang, China National Coal Group Yulin, and Shaanxi Coal Pucheng, all use GE gasification technology to produce syngas for methanol production.
