I’m not very familiar with powder coal gasification. High-pressure nitrogen is likely used to pressurize the feed hopper; therefore, if the supply of high-pressure nitrogen is interrupted, it means there’s no feed for the gasifier. Would that trigger some kind of interlock mechanism in your system? Check the operating procedures – they should contain relevant information on this topic
When the gasification furnace is operating normally, high-pressure carbon dioxide is used to pressurize the coal powder lockhopper; high-pressure nitrogen is also available, but it is only used in emergency situations or when starting up the gasification furnace.
