In June 2018, researchers from the Pulverized Coal Gasification Engineering Research Center at the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, successfully completed a pilot-scale experiment on the pressurized gasification of high-sulfur petroleum coke at the Xiaodian pilot plant. This experiment was conducted on a pressurized dry powder fluidized bed gasification unit (24 t/d) that was independently developed and designed. After stages such as preliminary process design, design of key equipment, equipment installation, unit commissioning, interlocking commissioning, and cold-state tests, the hot-state test was successfully completed. The pressurized gasification technology for high-sulfur petroleum coke developed by the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute has received support from CNPC’s scientific and technological projects. Over a period of 5 years of continuous research, the team carried out studies on reaction mechanisms, process development, design of key equipment, numerical simulation of material flow characteristics, and cold-state experiments. They have published more than 10 papers and obtained 4 patents. On this basis, a pilot-scale plant for the pressurized dry powder fluidized-bed gasification of petroleum coke was designed and constructed, achieving breakthroughs in the stability of material transfer and thermal reactions as well as in the advancement of technical parameters. The successful completion of the pilot experiment on the pressurized gasification of high-sulfur petroleum coke has laid the foundation for the industrial application of this technology.
May I ask about the feeding ratio of the high-sulfur petroleum coke raw material and what the reaction pressure is?
