How to determine how much water to add during the grinding and pulping process when driving the machine originally
There is a direct relationship between the amount of water added and the amount of coal used. If the concentration of the ground coal slurry is 60%, it’s easy to calculate how much water needs to be added
The last edit to this post was made by foxking on 2018-12-6 at 23:10. Concentration = amount of coal (on a dry basis) / (amount of water + amount of coal + additives); roughly, the amount of water is half that of the coal
For example, if it is planned to add 20 tons of coal for testing, with a desired concentration of 60%, then the amount of water needed would be 20 ÷ 60% – 20 = 13.3 tons; setting the water addition amount at 14 tons will suffice. For the trial run, water must first be added to the mill, then the mill started up, coal added afterward, the concentration increased, and finally the concentration was adjusted again. If you want to produce qualified coal slurry quickly, add less water – around 10 tons only – as this will help increase the concentration rapidly. Then gradually increase the amount of water to adjust the concentration; once the concentration and viscosity are within the desired range, consider increasing the load (by adding more coal and water). During testing, do not add coal first, nor start the grinder without adding any material at all, as dry grinding can easily lead to broken rods or overheating of the bearing shells
