Are coking ovens really that harmful?

I’m a new employee who has been working there for not long; I work in a coke oven, and the working conditions are really poor – there’s a lot of smoke and dust. There’s also a risk of inhaling toxic gases, dust sticking to the skin, along with high temperatures. The air around us is more or less polluted. Could all these factors increase the risk of cancer? I hope the more experienced workers can help me understand this and advise me on how to protect myself
It’s better to first learn and master the skills before considering other options. There are many more difficult tasks out there, and one must work hard to learn and perform well. It also takes people to improve such poor working conditions, and I hope you will be one of those people. By following the rules and regulations and wearing the required protective equipment, the safety level remains very high. It’s not as scary as you think.
There are indeed risks, so be more careful in daily life.
