Dear Haihao friends: I would like to ask whether the regenerator is used to regenerate rich oil or lean oil. Why is lean oil fed in before slag discharge?:)
:) It is a regenerated washing oil; this washing oil is used repeatedly as a solvent for benzene washing within the system, and impurities continue to accumulate in it. It is regenerated through a regenerator to ensure its quality
I know that the regenerator is used to regenerate the washing oil. What I’m asking is: why is the rich oil continuously regenerated by 1–2% at all times, and why does some of the hot lean oil enter the regenerator before slag discharge?
Regenerated rich oil or lean oil can both be used; it mainly depends on the design of your process; Adding lean oil before slag discharge can help to expel the slag more effectively.
Is my idea correct that the regeneration process itself is used to remove the reconstituted components from the washing oil and eliminate them from the system? Under normal conditions, the regenerator acts like one theoretical tray. Since the rich oil contains aromatic hydrocarbons, some steam is used during regeneration to evaporate the benzene dissolved in the washing oil. Therefore, slag discharge advances the lean oil efficiency.
I agree with your view, as the gas at the top of the regenerator also needs to enter the debenzing tower; in effect, this oil-rich gas undergoes secondary debenzing.

Personally, I think oil-enriched regeneration is more energy-efficient, because after the lean oil is heated in the regenerator and then sent to the benzene removal tower for benzene removal, it still needs to go through heat exchange to cool down before it can be used for benzene washing. The rich oil itself needs to be sent to the benzene washing tower for benzene removal.
Personally, I think regenerating lean fuel is more reasonable. When regenerating rich oil, in order to control the various parameters of the regenerator, this leads to an increase in the amount of regenerated oil and a higher steam consumption. Not energy-efficient
