I have been in contact with Shandong Huangtai, Anhui Keda, and Zhongke Hefei – all of them use coal powder fluidized bed gasification technology. From the promotional materials it seems that their methods are similar; does anyone know what the differences between these three companies are?
I’ve only seen an overview of their processes; they all belong to the fluidized bed gasification technology, but there are likely differences in the technical details and techniques used
The technical origins of Huangtai and CAS Hefei both lie in the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Huangtai’s technology belongs to the first generation of engineering thermophysics developments, while CAS Hefei’s technology belongs to the second generation. The technology used by Keda differs from that of Huangtai and Zhongke Hefei; Keda employs fluidized bed gasification, while Huangtai and Zhongke Hefei use circulating fluidized bed gasification technology. This latter technology has advantages in terms of scale and stability
Both Huangtai and Zhongke Hefei draw their technical expertise from the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; the two companies have gone their separate ways, working independently while sharing their achievements. Anhui Keda has a background as a listed company, delivers strong performance, and enjoys a good reputation within the industry.
Is there still a difference in the process design? Should it be made available as patented technology instead?
The principle of gasifiers is the same, but their structural designs vary, and the processes for preheating the gasification agent as well as the equipment used for this purpose differ. Patents operate independently.
