On March 10, Shanghai Huanyu Engineering Co., Ltd. and Collin Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the process package of the gasification project at Ordos Yiding Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd., which is part of Inner Mongolia Yili Group, in Shanghai. Sun Gang, chairman of Shanghai Global Engineering Co., Ltd., explained that this project marks the company’s first collaboration with Kunlun Bank, a subsidiary of CNPC. It adopts an EPC+F business model, providing clients with comprehensive services that include financing, engineering expertise, and the entire construction process. This represents an important step forward for the company in terms of innovation in its full-industry-chain service model. It is also the first time that Shanghai Global has taken on the role of general contractor for the design, procurement, and construction of gasification units, which is of milestone significance for the application of core coal chemical technologies and for strengthening and expanding the company’s operations in this field. Shan Yubing, chairman of Collin Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., said that the CCG powder coal gasification patented technology was developed by German company Collin Industrial Technology. It is the only gasifier in the world to adopt a top-mounted multi-nozzle (3+1) design, offering advantages such as wide compatibility with different types of coal, high gasification efficiency, and environmental friendliness. The carbon conversion rate reaches 98%–99%, the cold gas efficiency is 81%–83%, and the effective gas content in the syngas can reach 88%–93%. At the same time, this technology has enabled the localization of engineering services; the core patented equipment is 100% domestically produced, which significantly reduces the costs associated with equipment manufacturing and maintenance. Project Overview: This project involves the completion and improvement of the gasification unit for Yiding Company’s 600,000 tons per year ammonia synthesis and 1.04 million tons per year urea production facility in Ordos City. Phase II entails the construction of a new gasifier with a capacity of 110,000 Nm3/h (requiring 2,000 tons of coal per day) along with associated facilities. The project is general contracted by Shanghai Huanyu, with Collin CCG’s patented powder gasification technology being used for gasification. The first phase of the project undertaken by Ordos Yiding Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd., which aims to produce 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 1.04 million tons of urea per year, is located in the northeast of Hangjin Banner in Ordos City, on the northern edge of the Kubuqi Desert, within the Duguitala Industrial Park (North Project Area), east of Duguitala Town. It is a newly constructed project. Phase I of the project has been completed, resulting in a production capacity of 300,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia and 520,000 tons per year of urea. The main construction elements include production facilities for 300,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia and 520,000 tons per year of urea, along with supporting infrastructure such as power supply, water supply, and steam supply systems, as well as other auxiliary facilities. The main products include synthetic ammonia, urea, sulfur, as well as carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The actual total investment for the first phase of the project was 3,273,511,100 yuan, of which 259,077,100 yuan was allocated to environmental protection measures; thus, environmental protection investments accounted for 7.91% of the total project investment. Collin Energy’s Collin furnace is a patented product of the German company Collin Industrietechnik; it carries a true German heritage and embodies the wisdom accumulated by German R&D teams over several decades. Germany is the birthplace of modern gasification technology; the German company Kolin Industrietechnik originated from the renowned East German Fuel Industry Institute. The Corin furnace is the only gasification furnace in the world that features a top-mounted multi-nozzle (3+1) design. This design provides numerous advantages for the thorough gasification of coal powder, thereby enhancing the furnace’s capacity for coal gasification. Since 2016, Colin Energy has been engaged in long-term research collaborations on coal quality and coal chemistry with the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute ； Research cooperation was carried out with Southeast University on various coal powder conveying methods under pressurized conditions. In 2019, Colin Energy signed a cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Coal Group to jointly develop a technology for the co-gasification of coke powder and high-concentration organic waste liquids, providing a new solution for the effective utilization of such waste liquids in the coal chemical industry as well as for energy conservation and emission reduction. To better accommodate the integration of processes in the upstream and downstream stages of coal chemical manufacturing, as well as to address the challenges posed by the diversity of coal types, Corin Energy has recently completed the design of water-coal slurry gasification process packages with capacities of 2,000 tons and 3,000 tons. Currently, it is working on the development of a water-coal slurry gasification process with a capacity of 5,000 tons that utilizes multiple nozzles arranged at the top.
