World’s largest 4,000-ton gasifier lifted in Ordos! Author/Source: Date: 2019-01-20 Clicks: 31 On January 18, the core equipment for the 400,000-ton ethylene glycol and 300,000-ton polyoxymethylenemethane production project operated by Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. in the Dalat Economic Development Zone – a 4,000-ton gasifier, which is the largest of its kind in the world – was successfully lifted into place for the first time. As the gasifier with the highest daily coal processing capacity per furnace in the world, its successful hoisting is the first of its kind in the country, marking an important milestone in the history of coal chemical industry construction. It is reported that this type of gasification furnace weighs 450 tons, is 25 meters tall, and has an inner diameter of 4 meters; it constitutes heavy and oversized equipment, making its transportation and lifting extremely difficult. By hiring professional shipping teams and selecting the transportation route in advance, it took 33 days to successfully transport the goods from Dalian, Liaoning to Ordos on December 23, 2018. Upon the arrival of the equipment, Rongxin Chemical Company worked together with the general contractor Hualu Technology and the lifting company Yanchang Huajian to develop a lifting plan. For this lifting operation, a 1600-ton crawler crane was used as the main lifting device, along with a 400-ton crawler crane to assist in lifting the equipment. The gasification furnace was first moved from a horizontal position to a nearly vertical one, after which the main crane lifted the equipment vertically and placed it on its foundation. The 400,000-ton coal-to-ethylene glycol and 300,000-ton polyoxymethylenemethane circular economy demonstration project of Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. is a major project aimed at extending the industrial chain and promoting the clean utilization of coal, built upon the company’s initial 900,000-ton coal-to-methanol project. The total investment in the project is 7.68 billion yuan; construction began in August 2017, with completion and operation planned by the end of 2019. Upon completion of the project, it is expected to generate annual profits and taxes of 1 billion yuan and provide employment for over 600 people.
