The pulverized coal lockhopper for the gasification unit of Yushen’s coal-based ethanol project has been successfully installed. Recently, further progress was achieved in the installation work of the gasification unit for Yushen Energy’s 500,000 tons per year coal-to-ethanol project, with the pulverized coal lockhopper 1216-V-202 being successfully installed in place. It is reported that the total height of the gasification framework for the main structures of the ethanol project’s gasification unit is 94 meters. The structure above the 38-meter level is made of steel, while the part below that level uses a concrete framework along with steel columns covered in concrete. This complex structure makes construction extremely difficult. The coal powder hopper that was lifted this time is a key component of the coal powder transportation system in the gasification unit. It has a diameter of 4 meters, a height of 16 meters, and a weight of around 112 tons; it belongs to the category of vertical pressure vessels of type III. The staff working at Yushen Company’s gasification center overcame various difficulties, coordinated closely with the construction team, and used an 800-ton crawler crane for the main lifting operation, along with a 260-ton crawler crane to assist in transporting the equipment. As a result, the equipment was safely placed at the 42-meter level of the steel framework, completing the lifting task successfully. The successful lifting of this coal powder lockhopper marks the timely completion of the first milestone task in the autumn campaign for the ethanol project, and it also creates favorable conditions for the subsequent installation of the 51-meter-high steel structure.
