Due to its higher organic content, the biochemical sludge produced by Rongxin Chemical does not meet the standards required for disposal in class II landfills; it can only be disposed of in rigid landfills, with annual disposal costs amounting to approximately 42.525 million yuan. To achieve the harmless treatment, resource utilization, and reduction of biochemical sludge, a project for the co-disposal of biochemical sludge in water-coal slurry gasifiers is planned to be implemented. According to the research, an investment of only 2.66 million yuan is required, which can save the company 40 million yuan in sludge disposal costs each year. To ensure the smooth implementation of this project, the Safety and Environmental Protection Department actively coordinated the environmental assessment procedures and assisted in submitting the project implementation plan. It took only 6 months to complete the plan submission, environmental impact assessment procedures, and the preparation work. On November 23, 2021, the Ordos Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau approved it with document No. E-Huan-Shen 763. Ensure the legalization of the preliminary procedures for project implementation.
