Installation of large-scale equipment for the reform of Hebi Baofa’s moving-bed pure-oxygen gasification process completed. Author/Source: Gasification World. Date: 2022-01-04. Clicks: 9. On November 11, 2021, at the site of Hebi Baofa’s project aimed at energy-saving optimization through moving-bed pure-oxygen continuous gasification, technical workers were using cranes to install an oxygen production unit that was over 60 meters tall; 22 moving-bed pure-oxygen continuous gasification units and two gas purification production lines were also under rapid construction. According to the Hebi BMW Group, on the morning of December 13, Guo Hao, the mayor of Hebi City, and his entourage visited the BMW Industrial Park to conduct an inspection of the mobile-bed pure-oxygen continuous gasification renovation project. The park’s management stated that the installation of the large-scale equipment for the conversion to mobile-bed pure-oxygen continuous gasification is now almost complete, and efforts are being accelerated to manufacture and install the key equipment. Project Overview: The Hebi Baofa moving-bed pure-oxygen continuous gasification energy-saving optimization project involves the removal of 22 fixed-bed batch coal gasifiers and associated pipelines, as well as the construction of 22 new moving-bed pure-oxygen continuous gasifiers, two gas purification lines, and an air separation unit capable of producing 30,000 cubic meters of oxygen per hour. In 2011, Hebi Baofa Energy Technology Co., Ltd. launched the \"Energy System Optimization and Energy Saving Project for Hebi Baoma Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd.\"; through technical upgrades, its methanol production capacity was increased to 400,000 tons per year. In 2013, the company carried out the \"Energy Saving Project for the Circular and Comprehensive Utilization of Methanol Off-Gases at Hebi Baoma Fertilizer Factory,\" which resulted in an annual production of 10,000 tons of LNG. That same year, the company acquired Hebi Baoma Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., thereby achieving a methanol production capacity of 400,000 tons per year and a dimethyl ether production capacity of 300,000 tons per year, with sulfur and LNG as by-products. This technical upgrade primarily involves converting the fixed-bed batch gasification unit into a moving-bed continuous pure-oxygen gasification unit. At the same time, an air separation unit will be installed to supply oxygen, nitrogen, and instrument air to all the units in the plant. Some modifications will also be made to processes such as desulfurization, shift reaction, decarburization, and further desulfurization in order to adapt to changes in the composition of the upstream gas. The total investment for the project is 200 million yuan, with 6.3 million yuan allocated to environmental protection measures.
