Our workshop was originally designed to handle 120,000 cubic meters of gas per hour; however, due to coking issues, the gas flow rate is now 80,000 cubic meters per hour. In the ammonium sulfate production process, after HPF desulfurization, the mother liquor becomes viscous during summer – its specific gravity is between 1.4 and 1.5, its acidity is between 2 and 3, and the particles are extremely small and do not settle. Currently, aside from the crystallization tank, there is no ammonium sulfate anywhere else; the full-flow tanks and mother liquor storage tanks are all filled with accumulated ammonium sulfate. The centrifuge is unable to separate ammonium sulfate out; the small amount of ammonium sulfate that does come out is severely nitrate-contaminated. In summer, the agglomeration of mother liquor may be due to the increased temperature, which raises the solubility of ammonium sulfate and makes it difficult for it to crystallize and settle. It is recommended to check whether the cooling system is functioning properly to ensure that the temperature of the mother liquor remains within an appropriate range. At the same time, considering increasing the number of crystallizers or improving crystallization efficiency is possible. It is also possible to try adjusting the concentration of ammonium sulfate and the pH value to promote its precipitation and crystallization.
