Recently, the ultra-low emission renovation project for flue gas desulfurization and denitrification at the coking plant of Fangda Special Steel Technology Co., Ltd., undertaken by MCC Jingcheng Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as MCC Jingcheng), was successfully put into operation. In the process flow, the flue gas first reacts with calcium-based ultra-fine powder in the desulfurization tower to remove sulfur dioxide, and then, after being evenly mixed with the injected ammonia, it enters the ceramic catalytic filter reactor for further reaction. Inside the filter cartridge, particulate matter is effectively trapped, and nitrogen oxides react with ammonia under the action of the SCR catalyst, enabling simultaneous removal. Its catalyst loading per unit volume is about 5 times that of conventional honeycomb catalysts; it has a large contact area and high reaction efficiency, which enables a significant improvement in the efficiency of pollutant removal. This integrated technology features a modular design that allows for a single-layer or double-layer arrangement depending on the actual operating conditions. Compared with traditional desulfurization and denitration methods, it offers a more compact system structure, fewer equipment units, lower operating costs, no wastewater generation, and reduced solid waste output. It possesses the advantages of energy efficiency, high performance, and low carbon emissions, making it well-suited to the needs of the steel industry’s long-term development and full life-cycle management. It provides a replicable and scalable new approach for the advanced treatment of flue gases from coke ovens in China, holding significant significance as a model for the industry.
