! The construction of Yunnan Xianfu Group’s 1 million-ton coking plant is progressing rapidly, with joint commissioning to take place in September

At present, the annual production of 1 million tons of coking project carried out by Yunnan Xianfu Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xianfu Energy”) is being advanced at full speed to meet the scheduled timeline. Yang Shuo, the chief engineer of the project, explained that the coal coking construction project with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons carried out by Yunnan Yuxi Xianfu Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xianfu Group”) requires a total investment of 2.199 billion yuan. The project consists mainly of five components: a semi-C-shaped material storage area, a coal preparation unit, a coking unit, a chemical production unit, and a water treatment unit. To date, a total of 1.4 billion yuan has been invested in the project. Single-unit testing is expected to take place in June this year, while joint testing is scheduled for September. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will be able to produce 1 million tons of coke per year. At the same time, it will generate 45,000 tons of coal tar, 12,000 tons of ammonium sulfate, 11,000 tons of crude benzene, as well as 35,000 cubic meters of clean gas per hour and 20,000 kilowatts of electricity per hour, resulting in an annual output value of 3 billion yuan. As a project aimed at addressing the weaknesses in Xianfu Group’s steel industry chain, once completed and put into operation, it will meet 70% of the group’s demand for high-quality coke, further enhancing the security and autonomy of its supply chain and providing a foundation for the high-quality development of the steel industry. At the same time, by fully integrating the energy and resource advantages of coking enterprises and steel enterprises to promote complementarity between steel and coking industries, it facilitates the extension of the industrial chain and enhances the overall efficiency of the industry. Next, the company will use the coke oven gas it produces, as well as the nitrogen generated by Xianfu Group’s air separation units and the carbon dioxide produced by lime kilns, to synthesize urea. This will create a new source of growth and help promote ultra-low emissions and sustainable development in the steel industry. The person in charge of the Yunnan Xinping Industrial Park Office believes that the Xianfu Coking Project is a key supporting project for Yuxi City in promoting the development of industrial clusters based on the principles of \"two strengths, three advantages, five specialties, and one innovation,\" in improving the traditional green steel industry, and in building Yunnan into a green steel city. It also serves as an important support for the Yunnan Xinping Industrial Park in building a complete steel industry chain that encompasses \"mining and processing – pelletizing – coking – steel smelting – application and further processing of steel products – comprehensive utilization of waste resources\", thereby fostering a steel industry cluster worth hundreds of billions. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the Xinping County Party Committee, the county government, and the industrial park have formed a special task force for project construction to provide \"one-on-one\" support. Aiming at building Yunnan into a green steel city, efforts are being made to plan projects for extending, supplementing, and strengthening the industrial chain, and enterprises are encouraged to relocate upstream coking-related facilities to the Xinping Industrial Park in Yunnan ； Focusing on strengthening factor support to ensure land availability for project construction, we actively coordinate and promote administrative approvals as well as the construction of railway dedicated lines ； Focusing on strengthening investment safeguards, efforts are made to promote cooperation among the government, banks, and enterprises; 7 banks were organized into a group to provide 1.3 billion yuan in credit funds to support project construction ； Focusing on enhancing services for project construction, efforts are made to overcome the bottlenecks in project development. The 1 million tons per year coking construction project supporting Yunnan Yuxi Xianfu Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. is a key project under Yunnan Province’s “Four Hundreds” initiative as well as a major private investment project in the province. The project covers a total area of 1,200 mu, with an estimated total investment of 2.2 billion yuan. Once completed, it will be able to produce 1 million tons of dry quench coke per year, meeting nearly 70% of Xianfu Steel’s annual fuel needs and significantly reducing fuel acquisition costs thereby enhancing efficiency and reducing expenses. The project is expected to be fully completed and put into operation by the end of 2025, at which time it will generate an annual output value of around 3 billion yuan and tax revenues of 170 million yuan, while providing employment for more than 630 people.
