Desulfurization unit process: Coking plant coke oven gas ~ moisture at the inlet of the gas holder ~ gas holder ~ moisture at the outlet of the gas holder ~ moisture at the inlet of the primary electrostatic precipitator ~ primary electrostatic precipitator ~ moisture at the outlet of the electrostatic precipitator ~ moisture at the inlet of the Roots blower ~ Roots blower ~ cooling tower ~ desulfurization tower ~ cleaning tower ~ secondary electrostatic precipitator ~ total moisture at the inlet of the compression unit ~ compressor. Note: There is a bypass circulation system between the outlet of the cooling tower and the outlet of the electrostatic precipitator.
Improper control of the liquid level in the cooling and cleaning tower must be one of the reasons; what are the other possibilities?
Improper control of the moisture level before compression can cause water to enter the compressor.
Let’s see what other causes can be identified in the desulfurization process
Isn’t there moisture after desulfurization? It must be a problem with the moisture.
There are water seals at the inlet and outlet of the gas holder in the desulfurization section, as well as at the inlet and outlet of the electrostatic precipitator and the inlet of the Roots blower; however, there is no water separator anywhere along the process. It’s not clear whether this is due to a design issue or some other reason
The words at the beginning of the main post were written incorrectly; it should be a water seal
It’s likely a design issue. Under normal circumstances, when gas is cooled, mist-like water is formed; if this liquid water is not separated, it will reach the compressor and subsequent units, affecting their operation and causing corrosion. It is recommended to add a steam-water separator before the compressor.
Logically, each individual processing unit can be turned into an independent circulation system through appropriate adjustments; separation equipment specific to that unit should be installed at its inlet and outlet. This is especially true for the desulfurization unit, where water seal cleaning and cooling operations are concentrated. I’m not quite sure how this works, and I hope to get an answer from professionals
The last amount of moisture belongs to the press operator’s responsibility
