Summary for Methanol Synthesis Operators

Three years have passed. With great anticipation for the future of coal-based methanol, there is much to say, and now I have indeed seen a lot in reality. It has been a year filled with enthusiasm and a commitment to self-improvement, and it has strengthened my beliefs even further. I present a summary of this year’s work as follows; I would appreciate it if my supervisors could provide feedback on my shortcomings. In my future work, I will continue to improve myself and strive to do better. 　　During my time in the administrative department, I made efforts to learn the practical aspects of document handling and to understand various office procedures, including the management of meeting systems and the etiquette for receiving guests, among other things. I can complete all tasks assigned by my supervisor in accordance with their requirements. Since my major was not secretarial, I didn’t know how to seek guidance from my supervisors when I encountered difficulties. Here, I would like to thank my former supervisors for their patient guidance over the years. I believe that what I have learned in the work of the administrative department will benefit me throughout my life. Due to personal health reasons, I submitted an application to the company’s management in July to be transferred to the methanol synthesis workshop. 　　When I arrived at the workshop, I didn’t have any arrogance or unrealistic ideas; instead, I strived to adapt to the working environment as quickly as possible. Director Zhang provided great assistance to help me integrate into the team more swiftly. It has been a year since graduation, and because I work in the administrative department, I haven’t had much opportunity to reinforce the knowledge acquired in my field of study. I am well aware that I am behind others in many aspects. In order to catch up as quickly as possible, I humbly seek advice from the experienced workers in the workshop, as well as our engineers. I was initially unaware of it, but now I understand it and have even learned how to learn it*; I am very pleased with what I have learned. At the same time, through this process, I have come to understand the high standards that a chemical plant imposes on its employees; concepts such as organization and discipline now mean far more than their literal meanings. Especially during those days in Shi*, the vivid examples given by the masters kept reminding me that what I needed to do was to keep working hard to learn, whether it was knowledge about equipment or the actual manufacturing processes; there was no room for carelessness or negligence at all. On the contrary, one had to be careful and attentive in every aspect. Only by becoming familiar with the elements shown on the drawings and continuing to explore through practice can I believe that work-related mistakes will be minimized. Over the past year, the specific tasks completed in the workshop included assisting other staff members in improving the six systems in place within the workshop. Additionally, I studied the main processes involved in the synthesis section; this section is not only important for our workshop but also for the coal-to-oil company as a whole. Therefore, during my training, I paid attention to every process parameter and carefully documented each step of the operations. At the same time, after studying a certain process for some time, I reviewed the subjects I had learned before, including the principles of various pumps, compressors, heat exchange equipment, and different types of towers. 　　Today, I came to the coal-to-methanol company filled with hope and conviction; now that I’m here in the synthetic oil workshop, I believe I will never regret or feel sorry for this choice of mine. I believe that under the leadership of Director Zhang in our workshop, there will definitely be qualitative improvements in the future.
