This post was last edited by hai8487 on 2017-7-10 at 17:15. When the Lindlar deep cryogenic methanol washing process is used, the sulfur content in the CO2 product gas exceeds the specified limits. Dear colleagues, could you analyze the reasons for this and suggest possible solutions?
1. Heat exchanger leakage 2. Mismatch between methanol and CO2 in the product tower; 3. The low pressure of the CO2 product gas causes partial dissociation of hydrogen sulfide here.
The purity of the lean methanol is unsatisfactory, and the circulation volume is low.
It is the sulfur content in the CO2 product gas that is too high, not the sulfur content in the purified gas
1. The methanol flow rate used to wash the CO2 product gas is low. 2. The temperature of the methanol used to wash the CO2 product gas is too high. 3. The flow rate in the hydrogen sulfide absorption section of the absorption tower is too low
The flow rate in the hydrogen sulfide absorption section of the absorber is too low; this is the most likely reason
If issues such as heat exchanger leaks, process fluctuations, methanol flow rate, and temperature are excluded, it is possible that the amount of methanol-rich material at the top of the tower containing the CO2 product gas is relatively low; in other words, the amount of sulfur-free methanol-rich material entering the product tower is small.
