Steps to start a centrifugal pump: 1. Verify that all installation work on the equipment, electrical components, and instruments has been completed. 2. Check whether the anchor bolts of the pump are tight. 3. Ensure that the oil level in the bearing housing is at the proper level (2/3), and that the oil level in the oil reservoir is normal. 4. Open the manual valve at the pump inlet, as well as the valves at the inlet and outlet pressure gauges; open the exhaust valve to allow air to escape, then close it once all air has been removed. Open the minimum flow valve as well. 5. Manually rotate the pump to ensure smooth operation with no obstruction. 6. Contact the control room to request that electricity be supplied to the pump. 7. Press the pump start button to initiate operation. 8. Once the pump reaches its normal operating speed and its current and outlet pressure are within normal ranges, gradually open the outlet valve until it is fully open, and close the minimum flow valve. 9. The correct way to operate a centrifugal pump: The operation of a centrifugal pump can be divided into three steps, namely startup, operation, and shutdown. Start-up: The following preparations should be made before starting: 1 Check the condition of the water pump equipment. 2 The bearings are properly filled with oil, the oil level is normal, and the oil quality is satisfactory. 3 Open all the inlet valves of the centrifugal pump. 4 Fill the pump with water or allow water to flow back in via a vacuum pump; otherwise, open the vent valve to release air. 5 Check for leaks at the shaft seal; a slight drip from the packing seal is acceptable. 6 The motor rotates in the correct direction. Once the above preparatory work is completed, the motor can be started. Once its speed is normal, check the pressure and current, and pay attention to any vibrations or noises. (1) After the inspection is complete, fully open the inlet valve and start the motor; (2) As pressure rises, gradually open the outlet valve, while paying attention to changes in current and pressure as well as the condition of the end-face seal; (3) Check whether the motor current is within the rated value; if the pump is operating at its rated flow rate but the motor is overloaded, stop the pump for inspection.

(4) Install the protective cover for the backrest wheel; it is strictly prohibited for the cover to come into contact with the backrest wheel. (5) Clean the pump housing base and maintain good hygiene. (6) Open the inlet valve to fill the pump with liquid, open the vent valve to discharge all air, and then close it. In the case of a hot oil pump, it is not allowed to open an air vent to release air, in order to prevent the hot oil from escaping and catching fire; if there are dedicated vent lines and oil tanks, air and cold oil can be released through those vent lines. (7) The hot oil pump should be preheated slowly before starting; especially in winter, both the pump body and the pipes should be preheated so that the temperature difference between the pump body and the medium being transported remains below 50°C. (8) The seal oil must be thoroughly dehydrated before being introduced into the oil pump. (II) Starting of the centrifugal pump: (1) Open the inlet valve of the pump fully and close the outlet valve fully; start the motor and thoroughly check the operation of the pump. (2) When the pump outlet pressure is higher than the operating pressure, gradually open the outlet valve to control the pump’s flow rate and pressure. (3) Check whether the motor current is within the rated value; if the pump is operating at its rated flow rate but the motor is overloaded, the pump should be stopped for inspection.
