The coal gasification unit is the main facility of the Zhongan United Coal Chemical Project, comprising three units: coal grinding, gasification, and ash water treatment. The raw coal silo is located in the coal grinding unit. There are a total of seven raw coal silos; 4 have been installed, the fifth one is currently under installation, and the other two have already been prefabricated. After testing, they will be delivered to the site for installation in the near future. On the morning of December 13, the cooling tower 5131T02EF in the third circulating water plant for the purification system, which was undertaken by Nanjing Engineering Company, was successfully capped after 10 hours of continuous concrete pouring. Thus, all 18 towers in the third circulating water plant have been poured. The total amount of steel structure used in the Zhongan United gasification plant is 18,800 tons; 15,000 tons have been installed so far, accounting for 81% of the total. Among them, 75% of the steel structure installation for the coal grinding unit has been completed, 89% for the gasification unit, and 87% for the ash water framework. According to the construction plan, the installation of the main steel structure for the gasification framework will be completed by the end of December, while the installation of the main steel structure for the coal grinding framework will be finished in mid-January next year. The 1.7 million tons per year coal-to-methanol and converted olefins project of Zhongan United Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. is a key construction project of Sinopec and Anhui Province. The project goal is to have the facility completed by the end of 2018, with the entire process operational by June 2019. The core process of the Zhong’an United Coal Chemical Integration Project utilizes the S-MTO patent technology owned by Sinopec, while the gasification unit employs the SE-Dongfang furnace technology also owned by Sinopec. Using coal from the Zhujixi mine as raw material, methanol and converted olefins (LDPE/PP), ethylene glycol (MEG) and other products are produced. Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. is responsible for the overall management of the design, procurement, and construction of the MTO/OCC and PP units in this project, as well as six supporting facilities including the control room and 110 kV substation ； Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. is responsible for the design and construction of the gasification unit for the contracted project. Zhongan United Coal Industry & Chemical Co., Ltd. was established on December 18, 2010, with a registered capital of 4 billion yuan. It is funded equally, at 50% each, by Sinopec Corporation and Anhui Wanbei Coal and Electricity Group Co., Ltd. On December 7, 2016, a preparatory meeting was held for the resumption of work on the Zhong’an Coal Chemical Project to arrange the preparations for its restart. On January 20, 2017, a meeting on resuming work on the Zhong’an project was held in Huainan. The project headquarters issued the \"Notice on Resuming Construction of the Zhong’an United Coal Chemical Project\" (Petrochemical Shares Construction & Refining [2017] No. 6), announcing that work on the Zhong’an United Coal Chemical Project would officially resume.
