(hereinafter referred to as “Jianyuan Coal Coking”), was held in Xi’an. It is reported that this project is the first to produce ethylene glycol using coke oven off-gases. The Jianyuan Coal Coking Plant’s project for producing ethylene glycol from coke oven exhaust gas utilizes the syngas-to-ethylene glycol technology developed by Shanghai Pujing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., with engineering design provided by Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. Using 64,500 Nm3/h of coke oven gas as raw material, and through processes such as storage in gas tanks, pressurization, non-catalytic conversion with pure oxygen, desulfurization and decarburization, further desulfurization, syngas separation, ethylene glycol synthesis, and distillation, the plant is capable of producing 240,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year. Jianyuan Coal Coking Company was established in November 2005; it is a modern integrated enterprise invested and built by Inner Mongolia Sanwei Resources Group, focusing on coal mining, coal washing, coking, and chemical manufacturing ; The company is located in Qipanjing Town, Etoke Banner, Ordos City, with a registered capital of 400 million yuan; it currently has 1,200 employees ; At present, it consists of three subsidiaries: a coal washing plant with a production capacity of 3 million tons and a coking plant with a capacity of 1 million tons. The coal chemical industry chain is in its initial stages of development, with products including coking coal, refined coal, medium-grade coal, as well as chemicals such as tar, crude benzene, sulfuric acid, sulfur, and pure benzene, toluene, xylene, etc., which are produced through the refining of crude benzene. In May 2017, Jianyuan Coal Chemical signed an engineering design contract with Hualu for a project to produce ethylene glycol from coke oven exhaust gas at a capacity of 240,000 tons per year ; In June of the same year, a process package contract was signed with Shanghai Pujing Chemical ; Project location: Qipanjing, Etoke Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia; operation is expected to begin by the end of 2018.
