Huashuo Technology signed a contract with China Fifth Ring Engineering for the supply of catalysts for the ethylene glycol production plant at Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. Author/Source: Date: 2017-10-20 Clicks: 66 On October 18, Huashuo Technology issued a statement indicating that it had signed, on October 16, 2017, a contract with China Fifth Ring Engineering Co., Ltd. for the supply of catalysts for the ethylene glycol production plant as part of the demonstration project aimed at producing 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol and 300,000 tons of DMMn per year at Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. Huashuo Technology supplied catalysts for ethylene glycol production units to China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., with a total contract value of 191 million yuan. The Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemicals project, with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol and 300,000 tons of polydimethyl methoxide, uses coal as raw material and the four-nozzle gasification technology developed by East China University of Science and Technology to produce the CO and H2 required for ethylene glycol synthesis, as well as the syngas needed for methanol production. Ethylene glycol is synthesized via an indirect method, while DMMn is produced indirectly from methanol. The project is located in the Saniangliang Industrial Park in Dalaat Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a total investment of 7.68 billion yuan; it is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2019. On the morning of August 20, a kick-off meeting for the project of Yankuang Group’s Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical, which aims to produce 400,000 tons of coal-based ethylene glycol and 300,000 tons of polydimethyl ether per year, was held in the Dalaat Economic Development Zone in Inner Mongolia. The project developer, Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd., signed EPC general contract agreements for the project with China Fifth Ring Engineering Co., Ltd. and Huashuo Technology Co., Ltd. The 900,000-ton per year coal-to-methanol facility of the first phase of Rongxin Chemical’s 1.8 million-ton per year methanol-to-olefins project at Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was completed and put into operation in July 2014. The second phase involves a project to produce 400,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol along with 300,000 tons per year of polydimethyl ether from coal; this phase is scheduled to be completed and operational by the end of 2019. The production capacity will be 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year, 300,000 tons of polydimethyl ether per year, 19,000 tons of sulfur as a by-product per year, 12,000 tons of dimethyl carbonate as a by-product per year, 10,000 tons of ethanol as a by-product per year, and 6,000 tons of mixed alcohols as a by-product per year. Huashuo Technology (formerly Hubei Institute of Chemistry) possesses three key catalyst technologies for ethylene glycol dehydration, synthesis, and hydrogenation. It has partnered with Wuhuan Company to form the Wuhuan Consortium for the joint development of WHB coal-based ethylene glycol technology. The WHB technology was jointly developed by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., Huashuo Technology Co., Ltd., and Hebi BMW Group Industry Co., Ltd. The first industrial plant equipped with this technology, with an annual production capacity of 220,000 tons, was put into operation in August 2015 at Yangmei Group Shenzhou Chemical Co., Ltd. http://img.yf116.cn/image/img/20171020/1648496052980.jpg
