On January 29, 2016, the Shenmu Tianyuan 600,000 tons/year demonstration project for the comprehensive utilization of coal dust by grade was officially launched. The construction of new projects is divided into three phases: The first phase is the preparation stage, whose main tasks include preliminary project evaluation, design, submission for approval, and authorization. The second phase is the project construction stage, during which tasks such as civil work, equipment installation, and staff training are carried out. The third phase is the project commissioning stage, involving tasks like starting up the facilities and conducting trial production. After nearly two years of effort, all the preparatory work for this project, including application submissions and approval procedures, has been essentially completed. The project will now enter the actual construction phase, involving civil works and equipment installation. In recent years, with the increasing number of tar hydrogenation projects in the coal chemical industry, a fierce competition has emerged among enterprises over raw materials, markets, technologies, and talent. Faced with unprecedented competitive pressures, the coal chemical industry must pursue transformation and upgrading as the only way to avoid risks and achieve sustainable and healthy development. Shenmu Tianyuan assessed the situation carefully and embarked on research and development of technologies for the comprehensive utilization of coal ash in different forms. After several years of intensive research, these technologies were successfully developed, and the construction of a demonstration project for the comprehensive utilization of 6.6 million tons of coal ash per year was undertaken without hesitation. The 600,000 tons/year demonstration project for the diversified utilization of pulverized coal is a precursor to the 6.6 million tons/year demonstration project for the diversified utilization of pulverized coal at Shenmu Tianyuan.
