On April 1, the ceremony marking the start of construction for the first batch of projects under the city’s transformation initiative in Tunliu County was held in Yuwu Town. A total of 240 projects are set to commence construction, with a total investment of 48.24 billion yuan. These projects include 111 new industry projects in areas such as high-end equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy, cultural tourism, and modern coal chemical industry; 23 projects for the upgrading and transformation of traditional industries; and 8 projects related to technological innovation. The Zhongke Luanan deep-UV LED project and Luanan Solar’s 2GW high-efficiency battery project are among the key projects to commence construction on a large scale this time. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Zhongke Luanan deep-ultraviolet LED project and Luanan Solar’s 2GW high-efficiency battery project was held at the solar technology company. The first phase of the Zhongke Luanan deep-ultraviolet LED project involves the construction of the Zhongke Luanan Semiconductor Industry Technology Research Institute in Changzhi, Shanxi, as well as the Shanxi Zhongke Luanan Deep-Ultraviolet LED Company. The semiconductor research institute serves as a center for innovative technology research and development as well as a platform for industrialization-related technology research; it includes a demonstration line capable of producing 15 million deep-ultraviolet LED epitaxial chips per year, and is used for research in cutting-edge semiconductor technologies as well as in high-end applications and design areas. Deep Ultraviolet Technology Company serves as a platform for industrialization and expansion. By establishing a production line capable of manufacturing 200 million deep ultraviolet LED epitaxial chips per year, it engages in the research, development, production, and sales of LED epitaxial wafers, chips, MOCVD devices, as well as LED lighting products, medical equipment, and household appliances, thereby creating a deep ultraviolet industry hub based in Changzhi that can serve the entire world. On March 31, a meeting to advance the Zhongke Luanan deep-UV LED project was held at a solar technology company. Li Jinping, Wang Zhiqing, and Liu Kegong from the leadership team of Lu’an Group; Li Jinmin, director of the **Key Laboratory for Joint Innovation in Semiconductor Lighting; Zeng Yiping, a researcher at the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Junxi, director of the Lighting R&D Center at the same institute; Ruan Jun, executive deputy secretary-general of the **Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance; Yan Jianchang, a semiconductor researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Duan Ruifei and Wei Xuecheng, associate researchers at the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Che Jun, chief engineer of the East China branch of Information Industry Electronics 11th Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd.; and Zhang Zhigang, head of the Changzhi High-Tech Zone Management Committee, attended the event. The main responsible persons from various departments within the group as well as those from the solar energy technology company were also present. Li Jinping noted that this project promotion meeting is a landmark event, marking the beginning of the design and construction phase for the Zhongke Luanan deep-UV LED project and indicating that the project has entered a new stage. The leadership team responsible for the construction of the Lu’an deep-UV LED project must implement a daily reporting system, incorporate it into the group’s overall scheduling management framework, and develop a project construction timeline along with designated responsible persons to ensure unified management ； The Lu’an deep-UV LED project is of great significance; whether it is the project design team, the equipment installation team, or the construction team, all parties must pool their efforts, work tirelessly and with every possible means, to ensure the steady and rapid progress of the project.
