The advantages of producing ethylene glycol from coal are becoming increasingly evident; reputable companies have already managed to produce polyester-grade products, and the cost advantage is quite significant.
It is an emerging trend for steel companies to produce ethylene glycol through the combined process of steel production. If the production capacity is sufficient, there is no need to add a carbon source; coke oven exhaust can be directly liquefied to produce LNG, while converter exhaust can be used to produce CO, and coke oven exhaust can also be used to produce hydrogen. Ethylene glycol is synthesized in two steps.
