A few days ago, all the main facilities of the first phase of Jinmei Huayu’s circular economy industrial park for the clean utilization of high-sulfur coal, which is aimed at producing million-ton amounts of clean fuel, were completed, and testing is underway in an orderly manner; the project is set to go into operation officially in August. The Circular Economy Industrial Park for the clean utilization of high-sulfur coal, operated by Jinnan Coal Group, is located in the Beiliuzhou Village Industrial Park in Jincheng, Shanxi Province. It is one of the “one city, two parks” projects designated by Shanxi Province. The park covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometers, with a total investment of around 80 billion yuan. It is prepared for, built, and operated by Shanxi Jinnan Huayu Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. The construction of the park will take place in three phases; the first phase includes a project for producing 1 million tons of clean fuel from methanol per year, as well as a demonstration project for the integrated utilization of high-sulfur coal for power generation and heat production. The first phase of the park will utilize the high-sulfur coal from the Jincheng mining area and chemical process exhaust gases to produce 2.4 million tons of amino alcohol, 1 million tons of clean fuel, and 400 MW of power via IGCC technology; by-products such as sulfuric acid and LPG will also be generated. The first phase of the million-ton clean fuel project is expected to require a total investment of 8.6 billion yuan. It will be capable of processing 2.2 million tons of high-sulfur coal per year. Based on current market conditions, it is estimated that sales revenue of 1.9 billion yuan can be generated, along with profits and taxes amounting to 260 million yuan. The project will also create around 1,300 jobs, resulting in significant economic and social benefits. At present, all the main installations for the project have been completed, and commissioning work is progressing in an orderly manner. The project is set to go into official operation in August, thereby accelerating the full transition from project construction to actual production and operation. The construction of this project holds great strategic significance for our city in its efforts to become a pilot area for comprehensive transformation and reform, a leader in the energy revolution, and a hub for further opening up to the outside world; it plays a key role in driving high-quality transformation and development in the beautiful city of Jincheng in the new era.
