The coal-to-gas project was left unfinished halfway, and work started again on converting it into a methanol plant; Datang really has a lot of money. I’m afraid that the vaporization units, power centers, and so on have been left unused for 8 or 9 years; they are almost turned into piles of scrap metal.
That’s so accurate! Datang’s gasification project didn’t perform well; projects of this kind that produce gas from coal simply lack competitiveness, especially when they are located in inland areas. I’m afraid there’s no way to switch to producing methanol or ethylene glycol either; after all, state-owned enterprises have difficulty meeting their targets!
