I would like to ask everyone: the carbon dioxide gas generated by our company’s low-temperature methanol washing unit is sent back to the gas chemical processing section via a compressor to be used as a carrier gas. It has been found that there is black sediment on the three-stage inlet valve of the compressor; analysis shows that its components are iron, carbon, and sulfur, which causes the valve to not close properly. What’s going on, and how can it be avoided? Thank you.

There is a small amount of hydrogen sulfide in the CO2 product gas, which will precipitate there. Iron and such things are probably the result of corrosion and peeling off from the inner wall of the pipeline. All of these are normal.
