In the 3+1 methanol distillation column, it is necessary to check whether there is any blockage in the atmospheric pressure column reboiler, wax accumulation, or scaling on the tube walls, as these factors can affect the heat exchange efficiency of the reboiler.
The shell side of the atmospheric pressure column reboiler is fed with methanol vapor from the pressurized column; it is pure methanol gas, so scaling does not occur. The fluid being processed is wastewater; as long as the temperature is properly controlled and remains above the melting point of the wax, scaling should not occur
