Why is sodium hydroxide added when trisodium phosphate needs to be added during the operation of the waste boiler? Can sodium hydroxide be used again with adhesive expansion joints?
Adding sodium hydroxide is used to adjust the pH of the water
Can it run without it? Are there any other ways to control the pH value? Should all the operating waste boilers be included?
Not all boilers use sodium hydroxide; ordinary boilers do not employ it, as phosphates are sufficient to meet the pH requirements. Unless there are special requirements regarding water quality, using sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH leads to problems with waste discharge methods and quantities
Expansion jointing is merely a method for connecting the rising and falling tubes to the boiler drum; it has nothing to do with adding chemicals to the boiler
