According to Gansu Energy and Chemical Group, on March 29, 2026, the PSA gas production unit of Liuhua Chemical Company successfully produced hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%, thereby enriching the company’s product portfolio and extending its industrial chain. According to the information published on the Gansu Economic Information Network in 2022, Sichuan Huaneng Kechuang Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid for the PSA-based high-purity hydrogen production system with a capacity of 5,000 m3/h, as part of the first phase of the Jingyuan Coal and Electricity Clean and Efficient Gasification Gas Comprehensive Utilization (Relocation and Transformation) project. The Jingyuan Coal and Electricity Clean and Efficient Gasification Gas Comprehensive Utilization Project uses Jingyuan coal as raw material, employs pressurized gasification of coal using aerospace technology, and utilizes Wuhuan Company’s CO2-based urea production technology. The first phase of this project enables an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of ammonia, 350,000 tons of urea, 20,000 m3/h of (H2+CO) gas, 40,000 tons of methanol, 50,000 tons of liquid carbon dioxide, 60,000 tons of melamine, 50,000 tons of urea-ammonium solution, 1,924 tons of sulfur, and 2,500 tons of catalysts. On February 25, 2025, urea was produced in the first phase of the project. On March 11, methanol was produced.
