According to reports from June 2026, Wan Kai New Materials stated in response to investors’ questions that Sichuan Zhengda Kai’s 600,000-ton per year project for producing ethylene glycol from natural gas had reached full production capacity by June 2025. According to the Xuanhan County government website, on April 15, the third joint meeting between enterprises and local authorities was held for the project to build a plant with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol in Sichuan Zhengda Kai, as well as projects to extend and supplement the production chain. Tang Tingjiao, director of the Dazhou Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, noted that Sichuan Zhengda Kai’s 1.2 million tons per year ethylene glycol production project, along with related projects to expand and enhance production capabilities, is a landmark project in the new round of cooperation between the eastern and western regions. It is also a key project for promoting the local conversion of natural gas resources.
