Views: 63. Recently, a reporter went to the construction site of this demonstration project to conduct an interview. It was learned that since the project started in November 2017, it has been advancing according to the planned schedule, with completion and operation expected by the end of 2018. It is understood that the designed production capacity of this project is 3,000 tons per year. By leveraging the metallocene catalysis process jointly developed by the group company and the Shanghai Institute of Advanced Studies of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as the resource advantages of coal-based synthetic oil companies in producing a-olefins and their expertise in olefin separation and purification, high-quality, low-viscosity MPAO products are manufactured. The reporter learned that since the start of construction of this project, the project’s headquarters has, in line with the principles of striving for excellence in quality and advancing work in an organized manner, established various systems such as weekly meetings to review project progress, a system of responsibility for overseeing project quality on-site, and a mutual accountability system for ensuring safety. These measures are designed to ensure that progress is monitored on a weekly basis, that every aspect of project quality is carefully monitored, and that everyone is responsible for maintaining safety at the site, thereby working together to advance the project. It is reported that the synthesis and development of mPAO began earlier abroad; currently, companies such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, Idemitsu of Japan, Covestro, and BP hold their own patents in this area, while China has remained behind in this regard. Once the metallocene PAO demonstration project implemented by Lu’an Group Company is completed and put into operation, it will also fill the gap in China’s mPAO market.
