At around 11 a.m. on May 30, the No. 5 desulfurization tower of the flue gas desulfurization unit in the Thermal Power Station of the plant’s public works center was successfully lifted into place, completing the task 15 days ahead of the original schedule. A responsible official from the Utility Center said that the successful lifting of Tower 5 marks another significant advancement in the installation progress of the desulfurization equipment at the thermal power station. This not only provides sufficient time and safety guarantees for rust removal and anti-corrosion treatment inside the tower, but also creates favorable site conditions for subsequent construction of the foundations around it. On the afternoon of May 31, at the construction site of the air separation unit for the Yulin Energy Chemicals project, the 24.8-meter-tall and 75-ton heavy lower distillation column of Unit 3 was lifted into place. Once this milestone task is completed, the air separation unit signals the start of installation, and the entire system enters the installation phase. It is understood that as of the time of publication, the purifier and water cooling tower of Unit 3 air separation plant have been installed ； The installation of the steel structure for the cold box in the air separation unit, the installation of the V50 liquid nitrogen storage tank, the construction of the compressor foundations and plant framework, as well as the work on the substation, cabinet rooms, and air coolers, has all been fully underway. The civil construction and equipment installation work for air separation units have triggered a new wave of intense activity. The completion and improvement project for the first phase of Yulin Energy Chemical Complex is a key initiative aimed at implementing the requirements set by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government to \"enhance the demonstration effect of the comprehensive utilization projects for coal, oil, and gas resources in Jingbian\", as well as the goals of Yan’an Petroleum Group to \"change its business model and adjust its structure\". With an investment of 14.413 billion yuan, this project will use coal and natural gas as raw materials to build integrated facilities capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2020, at which time Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will increase to 1.8 million tons per year.
