Successful commissioning of Zhongan United’s MTO unit Author/Source: Sinopec News Network Date: July 31, 2019 Clicks: 58 On July 27, the MTO (Methanol to Olefins) unit at Zhongan United was successfully commissioned on the first attempt, producing qualified ethylene and propylene products. On the basis of thorough preliminary preparation and confirmation of the conditions for unit commissioning, the MTO unit began to operate with feed on the 26th, and entered a stable operating state after adjustments were made. Analysis data from the testing center show that the ethylene and propylene products meet the standards, and the MTO unit successfully completed its commissioning trial on the first attempt. Recently, the commissioning trials of the main units at the Zhong’an Coal Chemical Project have been carried out in full swing. Thanks to the joint efforts of all those involved, coal was fed into the gasification unit on June 15, and MTO-grade methanol was produced on July 20; thus, successive milestones were achieved in these commissioning trials. The feed-in trial run of the MTO unit was successful, and it is only a matter of time before the entire process of the coal chemical plant can be operationalized. Currently, the waste alkali incineration unit has been started up; the thermoelectric unit is operating with \"four furnaces and three machines\", while units for gasification, purification, and methanol synthesis are functioning stably.
