First Public Announcement on the Environmental Impact Assessment for Jutai Energy (Ordos) Co., Ltd.’s Expansion Project to Produce 500,000 Tons of Ethylene Glycol per Year. Author/Source: Jutai Energy. Date: 2020-03-31. Views: 14. I. Overview of the Construction Project (1) Existing project: “500,000 Tons of Ethylene Glycol Project”: In January 2015, the Environmental Impact Report for Jutai Energy (Ordos) Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 50×104 tons of ethylene glycol per year was approved by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Department via Document No. Neihuan Shen 7. In July 2018, the \"Environmental Impact Assessment Report for JiuTai Energy (Ordos) Co., Ltd.’s Project to Produce 500,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year (Amendment)\\" was approved by the Ordos Environmental Protection Bureau under document number E-HUI-PING-135. Following the changes, the nature, location, and scale of the project remain unchanged; however, the gasification unit, methanol plant, ethylene glycol plant, wastewater treatment facilities, and boiler room have been altered. The production process has been changed to pressurized coal gasification along with the hydroformylation method for producing ethylene glycol. “\"Syngas Comprehensive Utilization Technology Transformation Project\": In September 2019, the \"Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the Syngas Comprehensive Utilization Technology Transformation Project of Jutai Energy (Ordos) Co., Ltd.\" was approved by the Ordos Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau under document number E-Hui-Ping-Zi 220; this project aims to produce 200,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year by using the syngas from the existing methanol production facility as raw material. (2) This project: Project name: Jutai Energy (Ordos) Co., Ltd. 500,000-ton-per-year ethylene glycol expansion project. Nature of construction: Expansion. Location of construction: Dalu New Area, Zhungeer Banner, Ordos City. Scale of construction: 500,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol produced. Scope of construction: Coal-to-gas facility (the syngas produced by this facility will be used as feed gas in the “Syngas Comprehensive Utilization Technology Upgrade Project”), methanol facility, ethylene glycol facility, air separation facility, along with supporting utilities such as water supply and drainage systems, power supply, heating systems, and storage and transportation facilities.
