Recently, the installation of the purchased static equipment for the gasification unit of Shaanxi Weihé Binzhou Chemical Co., Ltd., part of Shaanxi Shenhua Weihua Group, in its 300,000-ton/year coal-based ethylene glycol production project, was successfully completed. At the site on November 5, a 260-ton crane was parked on the east side of the wastewater treatment framework. After the on-site safety briefing is completed and all personnel have their roles assigned. With a whistle, the lifting operation officially began! The ground crew skillfully attached hooks to the deoxygenation tank, after which the crane’s engine roared as the tank was slowly lifted upward. With the careful and steady efforts of everyone present, the deoxygenated water tank gradually moved closer to the ash water treatment frame, until it finally settled firmly on the equipment base. The deoxygenated water tank V1407 is a key piece of equipment in the gas production section of the gas manufacturing workshop; it constitutes an important part of the water circulation system in that section. The tank has a T-shaped structure, with a length of 16 meters and a height of 9 meters. The lifting and gasification project team made thorough preparations, and the plan was finalized only after discussions and communications among various specialists. The director of the gas production workshop explained that since this was the installation of the last externally purchased static equipment for the gasification project team, this stage played a crucial role in linking previous and subsequent steps; it was essential to ensure its success in order to bring the installation of the large-scale gasification equipment to a successful conclusion. At present, the plant area has taken initial shape, with the installation of mechanical equipment and pipeline layout in full swing. The construction site for the 300,000 tons per year coal-based ethylene glycol production facility of Shaanxi Weihe Binzhou Chemical Co., Ltd., which is part of the Shaanxi Coal Chemical Weihe Group, is located within the Xinminyuan Modern Coal Chemical Industrial Park in Bin County. The project covers an area of 600,000 square meters. The project construction includes the main facilities such as gasification units, purification units, and ethylene glycol synthesis units, as well as auxiliary facilities for water supply and drainage, desalination stations, power supply, heating, and fire protection. It also encompasses storage and transportation systems, as well as environmental protection measures such as waste gas treatment, wastewater treatment, and solid waste disposal. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol; the by-products will include 17,576 tons of crude DMC per year, 5,336 tons of DMO reconstituted fractions per year, 5,920 tons of fusel oil per year, 13,440 tons of light fractions per year, 6,048 tons of heavy ethylene glycol fractions per year, and 4,321.6 tons of sulfur per year. The total investment for the project is 5.495 billion yuan, of which 444 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures. In April 2016, Shaanxi Weihe Binzhou Chemical Co., Ltd. signed a CTEG technology licensing agreement and an engineering design contract for a 300,000 tons per year coal-based ethylene glycol project with Gaoxuehua and Donghua Engineering. The original owner of the project was Shaanxi Binchang Mining Group Co., Ltd. On November 19, 2014, the 300,000-ton coal-to-ethylene glycol project of Binchang Mining Group was officially transferred to Shaanxi Weihe Coal Chemical Group Co., Ltd.
