With local **support and the joint efforts of all parties, on March 13, all 14 construction lots of the first phase of the Qinzhou facility resumed work. At present, the project construction is making steady progress toward its goal of completion by the end of the year. The construction of the Qinzhou base, which is ranked as the top priority among the group’s ‘three key challenges’ this year, achieved satisfactory results in 2019. As of the period before the Spring Festival holiday, the overall progress of Phase 1 of the Qinzhou project was on schedule. All the necessary approvals for registration, environmental impact assessment, energy assessment, safety assessment, and occupational health had been obtained, and land use permits for the project site had been secured. With the successful lifting of the first large-scale equipment, the acetic acid reactor, on November 20, the project construction gradually shifted from civil engineering work to the equipment installation phase. At present, 90% of the construction of the main building in Phase 1 has been completed, 90% of the road construction is done, 5 large-scale pieces of equipment have been installed, and pipeline installation is complete – 45,000 meters of underground pipelines have been installed. All construction work is being carried out at full speed in an effort to make up for the time lost due to the pandemic. After the long holiday, the resumption of work on the project was delayed due to the impact of the pandemic. To ensure that the projects can resume operations as soon as possible, the Qinzhou Port Development Zone provides targeted support through customized strategies and direct services for each enterprise. The project team of Guangxi Huayi faced the challenges head-on, planned meticulously, actively coordinated with all the parties involved in the construction, formulated relevant measures, and made every effort to prepare for the return of construction workers to work. The lifting and cleaning operations for the ethylene glycol scrubber tower are being carried out in an orderly manner. Concrete pouring for the pile foundation works is underway, and equipment for projects such as the Huayi furnace, methanol steel structures, pile foundations, and ethylene glycol is arriving one after another, with installation work taking place on site in an organized fashion.
